Annual Art Show – Virtual- November 15 – February 15
Each year, Gramercy Neighborhood Associates hosts an Art Exhibit to give local artists the opportunity to display their work. This year’s art show and exhibition will be held virtually. As part of the application process, our judging panel (which includes different curators from art galleries around the city) will choose which pieces will be displayed on our newly established website. In light of the current pandemic we will not be hosting at the famed Salmagundi but will extend the timing of the event and host it for all to see. Taste of Gramercy Neighborhood – 2021
September 202112:00pm – 4:00pmIrving Place between 17/18 Street For the 7th year, the event will showcase some of Gramercy’s top restaurants for New York City to enjoy. TOGN was started to promote local businesses and introduce residents of NYC to the wonderful array of food that Gramercy has to offer. As in previous years, net proceeds from this event will go to benefit healthy meal programs at local public schools, including PS 40 and School of the Future. Volunteer at the Bowery Mission – 2021
Gramercy Neighborhood Associates will be volunteering for The Meals Program at The Bowery Mission. Meals will be served at 227 Bowery in Manhattan. Meals are served 365 days/year and are preceded by a chapel service. In addition, GNA will be donating funds to The Bowery Mission in order to help the homeless find appropriate bed linens to keep warm this winter. Union Square Green Market Rescue – City Harvest – Dates Coming Soon for 2021
GNA has partnered with City Harvest to participate in their food rescue in Union Square. City Harvest rescues excess food using a fleet of 19 refrigerated trucks, three cargo bikes, over 150 employees, and more than 4,000 volunteers. Each year City Harvest collects nearly 50 million pounds of food. Sixty percent of this total will be comprised of fresh fruits and vegetables. 35th Annual Daily News Food Drive – Ended January 2018
35th Annual Daily News Food Drive Each year, City Harvest and the Daily News collect non-perishable food to stock shelves at 500 soup kitchens, food pantries and other community food programs across the city. Running a food drive helps City Harvest provide good food during the holiday season when so many of our neighbors struggle to put food on their tables.
