Volunteers Needed and Welcome! GNA is co-sponsoring the annual Clean & Green at the PS40 playground. Please join us for a fabulous day of giving some well needed love to one of our favorite Gramercy playgrounds. Supplies will be provided.
Each year, Gramercy Neighborhood Associates hosts an Art Exhibit to give local artists the opportunity to display their work. This year’s art show and exhibition will be held at the prestigious Salmagundi Club on Fifth Avenue. As part of the application process, our judging panel (which includes different curators from art galleries around the city) will choose which pieces will be displayed at the Club. Since 1871, distinguished artists have presented their work at Salmagundi, and we are enthusiastic that our neighbors can take part in history by applying to display their artwork.
GNA has partnered with City Harvest to participate in their food rescue in Union Square. City Harvest rescues excess food using a fleet of 19 refrigerated trucks, three cargo bikes, over 150 employees, and more than 4,000 volunteers. Each year City Harvest collects nearly 50 million pounds of food. Sixty percent of this total will be comprised of fresh fruits and vegetables.
