GNA will be sponsoring a tree planting in various areas of Gramercy that are in need of trees. This will be done in December as part of Community Board Six’s “Street Trees” program.
New York Cares officially launched its 26th annual coat drive on November 18, 2014 and GNA is one of the non-profiting that is participating! The Gramercy based drop off location is: 242 East 19th Street (@ 2nd Ave)
Each year, GNA participates in career day at SOF. Many of our members, who have or have had careers in a variety of industries around the globe, provide students with career advice and share their own working experiences.
We are teaming up with City Harvest in 2014! City Harvest collected 46 million pounds of excess food in 2013 from all segments of the food industry, including restaurants, grocers, corporate cafeterias, manufacturers, and farms. More details coming soon!
For the second year in a row, GNA will be hosting its now famous Taste of Gramercy Neighborhood (“TOGN”) on Irving Place. Last year’s event exceeded everyone’s expectations – 20 restaurants, 12 sponsors and over 50 volunteers! As with all our events, our members will continue to receive discounted tickets.
For the third year in a row, GNA will co-sponsor a clean and green to help maintain this playground for our neighborhood children. More details coming soon!
Community Board Six and Gramercy Neighborhood Associates are co-hosting a panel discussion with representatives from NYC agencies, moderated by City Council Member Rosie Mendez. Agencies will include the Office of the NY County District Attorney, NYPD’s 13th and 17th Precincts, Department of Sanitation, Department of Transportation, Parks Department, and Department of Homeless Services. Panelists will address quality of life issues in the Gramercy neighborhood, including homelessness, safety, traffic, and sanitation. This is your chance to voice your opinion directly to community board six on any quality of life issues facing Gramercy Park!
